The Beatles Invade Again

All you need is love.

Released in 2007, Across the Universe tells the story of an American girl in love with a British boy, both trying to find themselves in the Vietnam War era accompanied by The Beatles' music. Though a great musical, Beatlemania, Volume II did not occur.

The Beatles

On June 1, 2009, Paul McCartney and Ringo Star unveiled plans for The Beatles: Rock Band video game, which would allow players to perform some of The Beatles' most famous songs on guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. The game became available to the public on September 9, 2009.

The game is set up to chronicle the career of the Fab Four. Throughout the game and the 45 tracks which have been sorted into levels, you will be taken through The Beatles' career from the early club stages level, through the Ed Sullivan Show, to their roof top final performance.

Yet, the game is ironically set up so that the better you play, the closer you get to the band's sad break up. Though, in return the game offers exclusive content such as previously unseen photographs of The Beatles and never before heard audio of conversations between the band members in the studio.

The remaining band members Paul McCartney and Ringo Star, along with Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, were greatly involved with the Rock Band corporation, which has sold over $1 billon in consoles and games, in working hard to put together The Beatles: Rock Band.

One of the world's greatest rock bands and one of the most popular video game franchises seems like enough to set Beatlemania II into motion, but there's more. Along with The Beatles: Rock Band, the entire Beatles catalog (which hadn't been touched since the late 80's) was recently reissued into two box sets.

The stereo box set, which costs around $200, contains 14 albums. This set includes liner notes, many pictures, and short video documentaries.

The mono box set is more expensive and contains 11 albums. Along with the bigger price tag, it includes a spot on replication of the original LP packaging, which should excite true fans.
