Riverside Tigers men's basketball team are going in this as the defending champs for the first time.

An assistant coach named Gary Holmes left Riverside Tigers, so the Tigers replaced him with two new assistant coaches, Jennifer Smith and Anthony Tyson. The Tigers still have their head coach John Smith and assistant coach Joseph Huff. The coaching staff is looking good enough to have a back-to-back championship.

Daniel Redmon and Kevin Bradshaw made their decisions on about their future academic and athletic careers. They are coming back one more year.

Daniel Redmon, a guard out of Upland High School, has verbally committed to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. As a freshman last year, Daniel Redmon averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 assists, while turning over the ball just 2.6 times a game. He also averaged nearly two steals per game.

Kevin Bradshaw will stay home deciding to eventually sign with the University of California, Riverside. Kevin Bradshaw nearly gave up on the game a year ago, averaged 5.1 points, 4 rebounds and nearly one block a game as a freshman.

James Calhoun, a solid bench player comes in the game making big plays. He averaged 4.8 points and 1.3 assists.

Another guard talks about Aaron Snyder coming back. He is from Riverside Poly. He averaged 1.6 points and .3 assists. Aaron Snyder is another good bench player.

Riverside Tigers got some new players like big sophomore Jordan Richard from Rancho Cucamonga. Other sophomore Valentine Ike play shooting guard for Riverside Tigers.

There are some freshmen coming this year, like Davie Champagnie, who plays center, Orion Palmer from Riverside planning to play forward, and a guard from Fontana, Larry Thompkins will play from the bench.

Riverside Tigers have two new assistant coaches, new players, and players coming back this year. They have a good shot to defend the championship.
