Riverside Community College Marching Tigers on Tournament of Roses Parade

 

Did you know that our own Riverside Community College is preparing to appear for their fourth Tournament of Roses Parade appearance? Yes, they are working extremely hard to make a great performance at the parade and many other important events which they have been part of. Silvia Flores from The Press-Enterprise says, “With a fourth Rose Parade appearance, the RCC Marching Tigers will celebrate their 25th anniversary since Gary Locke founded the band. The band has marched on four continents, played in more than 20 movies and appeared with three former presidents.”

Founder, Gary Locke, with 33 years of teaching music and marching since 1984; Hollywood and the world has taken notice of this man’s talented teaching and successful young musicians. The creator of the “musical ambassadors of the world,” Riverside Community College, Marching Tigers, is a motivational and inspiring instructor around the globe for his grand accomplishments.

With performances in Canada, Disney France, Australia, Japan, Ireland, England, Italy….oh the list is extreme. Plus Hollywood movie on screen appearances in American Pie 2, Princess Diaries 2, The Eye, Bring it On: In it to Win It, Bratz, and many more. In addition to Riverside Community College Marching Tigers have been on Television Productions, Commercials, Music Videos et cetera, there are many more new accomplishments to come to add to this list.

Farmers’ Insurance 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade will be lead by the Riverside Community College Marching Tigers Band. Upcoming appearances include a Television ad for Verizon, Fantasia returns, Ayala Show, and the most beautiful 17th annual “Festival of Lights” at the Historic Mission Inn along with Fireworks that happened on November 17th each year to open up the 3.5 million light spectacular with more than 40,000 spectators. If you miss it this year, make sure to attend the next year celebration. And lastly the Riverside Marching Tigers have been invited to take part in the 25th anniversary edition of the London New Year’s Day Parade and Festival on January 1st 2011.

What a proud honor for all Riverside Community College students to say that we have the Riverside Community College Marching Tigers representing our College, One College One Band!!! The band says “Happy Holidays to all!!!”
